Royalton will be a site for Minnesota College Goal on Thursday, October 12 from 4 - 7 pm in the high school computer lab. Students/Parents who need help completing their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are strongly encouraged to attend this "open house format" event. Professional volunteers will be available to help families complete and submit the FAFSA. The FAFSA must be completed in order to receive any need-based aid for college. Students who participate in this event and attempt to complete the FAFSA can enter a drawing for a $500 Educational Award. To save time at this event, students and parents should create their FSA ID if they have not already created an account. Go to and click on the FSA ID icon at the top of the page to create your account. Remember to bring the following information with you:

  • Social Security Number
  • Most recent federal income tax returns, W-2's, and other records of money earned. (Note: you may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool)
  • Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
  • Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
  • An FSA ID to sign electronically

*If you are a dependent student, then you will also need most of the above information for your parent(s).
